Katie Vicsik is the Florida State Director at All On The Line, where she leads a statewide program to create awareness and action around the redistricting process via strategic partnerships and grassroots engagement. Katie has prior campaign experience in Florida, working on President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, as well as serving as the Florida State Director at Enroll America, an issue-based campaign that educated would-be insurance consumers, and increased enrollment in health coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
Katie has two very lovable labradors, and a four-year-old son, Ben. She is a native Floridian, who hopes to bring transparency to the statewide redistricting process so that we can have elected officials who represent our values.
What does All On The Line mean to you?
All On The Line is helping make an impact on issues that I have been fighting for a long time — especially gun violence prevention and affordable health care — by getting to the root of the problem. Right now, elected officials don’t represent — or vote for — Floridians’ values. With fair maps, we can actually see the change we have been asking for by having responsive leaders.
Why are you fighting for Fair Maps?
If we have fair maps, citizens will feel and see that their voices are being heard. If we want to impact the issues we care about, we have to fight for fair maps.
Why should people get involved with All On The Line?
We’re a grassroots organization that needs people to get involved and stand up for fair maps. This is a once in a decade opportunity and we need all hands on deck! There are so many activities that people can do to get involved , from attending book clubs and public training events, or action from home like tweeting at, emailing or calling their legislators.
If you’re on board with Katie and her fight for better representation in the state of Florida, join us! We are always looking for more volunteers to be active and involved in the redistricting process.
